LONG HONG LAZY DAIZY CHAIN STITCH:--When an anchoring stitch is long instead of short the stitch becomes long hong lazy daizy chain stitch.

LAZY DAIZY CHAIN STITCH

WHEAT EAR CHAIN STITCH:--You can create textured lines interesting borders with it. It looks like winged seeds. It can be worked into little rabbits and make realistic ears of wheat.

ROSSETTE CHAIN STITCH


ROSETTE CHAIN STITCH:---It is a decorative line stitch and is good for edging, curves, geometrical shapes or for out lining small flower shapes. It is attractive in white thread on a coloured background.

CABLE CHAIN STITCH

SQUARE CHAIN OR OPEN CHAIN STITCH

SQUARE CHAIN OR OPEN CHAIN STITCH:--It is well suited for borders , fillings and lines and shades of graduated width .Instead of making a chain with a vertical straight stitch as in a regular chain. Take the stitch diagonally.

CHECKERED CHAIN STITCH

CHECKERED CHAIN STITCH:--Start as an ordinary chain but instead of looping both threads under the needle, loop them alternately one at a time. the other thread stays above the needle and pull both threads through it is worked with two threads of contrasting colours in the needle at the same time.

ZIG ZIG CHAIN STITCH

ZIG ZAG CHAIN STITCH:---A zig zag chain is an ordinary chain worked between two imaginary parallel with each chain stitch slanting at an angle to the previous one this is used for make borders.

THREADED CHAIN STITCH

THREADED CHAIN STITCH:--A row of chain stitches can be threaded in one direction from right to left , or in both directions by turning your work around when you reach the end of the row and threading work.

WHIPPED CHAIN STITCH

WHIPPED CHAIN STITCH:--A row of chain stitches can be whipped in a contrasting colour. The whipping can be on one or both sides of the chain stitch or the hole chain can be whipped two close rows of chain stitches whipped make a beautiiiful border.

CHAINED STITCHES


CHAIN STITCH:--Work the stitches towards you starting from the top of the lines. Insert the needle at the point from where it is brought out holding the thread down with y our thumb. Bring the needle point out a short distance ahead(front) and pull it through keeping the work thread under the needle the result is a loop. In starting the next stitch remember to insert the needle just inside the loop. This is used for making out--lines and filling large shapes.

STEM STITCH


CROSS STITCH:--This stitch is suitable to be applied on fabrics with small checks or thick yarns which can be counted to work. Cross stitch on closely woven fabrics, take thin canvas on to it before doing the embroidery. After the work is completed the yarns of the canvas can be pulled out leaving the embroidery directly on the fabric. stitches are worked diagonally from left to right or right to left along two parellel lines. After completing the first half of the crosses, work in the opposite direction filling in the second half of the crosses. If the design is irregular you can complete one cross at a time.

WHIPPED BACK STITCH:--Done in the sameway as whipped running stitch after working a row of back stitch.

THREADED BACK STITCH:--Make a row of back stitch and threaded as done for running stitch.


WHIPPED RUNNING STITCH:--First work small even running stitches along the stitching line. then using thread of a different colour, work stitches in and out of the running stitches.




HOLEBEIN STITCH:--This stitch is also easier to work on fabrics on which the threads can be counted.In this running stitches are worked from left to right following the shape of the design.When you have reached the end of the work fasten the thread and work left to right again filling the spaces left in the first row.

BASIC HAND EMBROIDERY STITCHES


STEMSTITCH:--This is a line stitch used for outlining designs especially stems and leaves .It can also be used for filling small designs by working several lines side by side.

work should be done from the bottom upwards each time takeing a stitch almost vertically down but with a slight slant.while working the stitches the   thread should be held down with thumb away from the stitching line.

LAUNDRY - 22 . TIE AND DYE


TIE AND DYE
AIM-TO learn the method of dyeing a cotton fabric.
EQIPMENT---A dye bar, a small bowl, water, a wooden spoon, a muslin cloth, tubs for
rinsing, stove, the dye and some chemicals.
INGREDIENTS--vat dye , hydro , caustic soda ,water.
PREPARATION OF THE DYING--

  1. wet the white cotton cloth for dying.
  2. take dye in a small bowl and pour hot water and make a solution.
  3. in the hot water first put hydro and then caustic soda, dye solution.
  4. cloth must be wet before immersion . open out the cloth and then immerse in the dye bath.
  5. boil the cloth in the solution.
  6. rinse the cloth until the water of the last rinse is cleared.
  7. the moisture must be squeezed out of the cloth.
  8. outdoor quick drying in a shady place is necessary.
