 STAIN  REMOVAL   --MUD ,  OIL PAINT     VARNISH AND PERSPIRATION
STAIN                                :---MUD
CONDITION                      :---FRESH    AND   DRY
WHITE  COTTON             :---Allow  to  dry  and  brush  it  off . Wash  with
                                               soap  and  water  .If   persistent , treat   with  
                                               K Mn O4    and    oxalic   acid  .

COLORED  COTTON        :---Same  as  white  cotton  .

SILK    AND   WOOL         :---Same   as  white  cotton  .

SYNTHETIC    FABRICS   :---Same   as   white  cotton .

STAIN                                 :---  OIL   PAINT   &  VARNISH  .

CONDITION                       :---  FRESH    AND  DRY  .

WHITE  COTTON              :---  1.Steep    in  turpentine  wash  with  solvent
                                                    soap  .

                                                  2.Steep   in  alcohal  ,  wash  with   solvent
                                                    soap  .

                                                  3.Sponge   with   equal   parts   of  alcohal
                                                     benzine .

COLORED    COTTON   &

LINEN                                  :---Steep  in  kerosene   or  turpentine  . 

                                                 Wash  with  solvent  soap  . 

SYNTHETIC  FABRICS        :---For   rayon ,  alcohol   is   not  used  .

STAIN                                   :---- PERSPIRATION

CONDITION                         :---- FRESH  AND  DRY  .

WHITE  COTTON                 :---- 1.Steep   in  cold   water  .  

                                                    2.Steep  in  dil . NH3  solution .

                                                    3 .Wet    the    stain  and  place  it 

                                                       in  the  sun  for  bleaching  . 

                                                       The   fabric  must  be  kept  wet 

                                                        until    the   stain   is   removed  .

                                                    4 .Bleach    with    javelle  water  .

COLORED  COTTON             :----For    fast  colors   use   same  treatment

                                                     as    for   colored   cotton  .

                                                     For  non  fast  colours   :  Steep  in

                                                     dil.  N H 3  .  Then  treat   it   with    

                                                      dil .H2 O2    followed    by   a  solution

                                                      of  sodium   hypo  sulphate .

SILK    AND    WOOL             :----Same    as  for  colored  cotton  .

SYNTHETIC  FABRICS          :----Same    as   for   colored  cotton  .
